NME has made Black And White Town their 'Track (single) Of The Week' this week stating: "what a tune! drums explode from the speakers! A ghostly piano part exorcised from beneath the floorboards of Wigan Casino breezes in! It's like all Doves best bits forged into one..."
Album reviews are also starting to appear with the Observer Music Monthly calling Some Cities "an outstanding return. The first essential guitar album of the year.", Q giving the album a four-star write up saying, "it’s going to be one of 2005’s most loved albums. Doves seem hell-bent on lifting their music to a higher celestial plane."
Uncut meanwhile gives the album 5/5 adding "no difficult third album, just deeper excursions into rain-drenched melancholy from Manchester's most adventurous."
And there's a great two page 'feature' in the new GQ stating that Some Cities "could already be the best record of 2005."
